Picea Koyamai - Koyama Spruce

Native of  Japan, this spruce is very rare and very few mature trees still exist. They are all mostly located in Japanese forest in small bunch of approximatly 10 trees. It is a very beautiful subspecie of the spruce family. The growth rate is medium and the needles are light green in color. It prefers humid soil conditions. The needles are very small rarely being longer then half an inch. The bark is a light gray color. It was named after Japanese botanist Mitsua Koyama.
