Larix Kaempferi - Japanese Larch

This unique specie is the only one of the conifer to actually loose it's needle in autumn. It is beautiful to see the growing pattern of the needles. They start as a light green, then go to a blueish-greenish tint, dark green in late summer, and then yellow needles in fall. It is a fast grower that adpat to many styles. Also know as Leptolepis.

Hardy to USDA zone 5 to 8.
