Of moderate to fast growing rate, this pseudo-cedar is one of the favorite for it's small needles. Being evergreen, this specie is keeping it's needle in winter wich will turn bronze but come back to green once spring awaken. The reddish brown bark is ornamental, peeling off in long strips, and is the most pronounced characteristic on old trees. A very popular in Japan.
