Catnip - Catmint

Nepata Cataria is the latin name for this popular herb in the family of the mint. It is also commonly know as "Catnip" or "Catmint".

This herb is popular because of its notorious effects on cats. The catnip will stimulate cats pheromonics receptor which will result in a temporary euphoric states.

After cats have detected catnip, they will try to chew it, roll over it and cut it. Some say cats will try to destroy the herb. Cats will roll on them self, they will be pawing and frisking. Some cats will will be salivating copiously.

It is know that 2/3 of the cats will react to catnip. It is an hereditary gene. Almost all domestic cats are susceptible of reacting to Catnip.

Catnip can also be used for tea. Catnip tea as a mint taste and very relaxing.

Catnip is also a very powerfull insect repellant. more powerful then DEET and all natural.

The plant ressemble a min plant twith greyish-green leaves; the flowers are white and finely spotted with purple.
