An unbelievable dissectum specie that develop leaves in a deep tone of purple red, dark red wine, in the begining of summer and keeps the deep colour all season but leaves turn bright crimson red in autumn. It grows in a cascade habit but this dissectum is the more erect form of cascade. It is a very sturdy grower with vigorous foliage. Mature tree will reach 6 to 10 feet high. It will thrive in light shade condition. It is also known as 'Select Red', 'Red Select' and 'Holland Select'. 'Inaba Shidare' is becoming a very sought after tree in the United States and has been propagated on the islands of Japan since the mid-1800s.
